The name of the recreated piece is Snow Way. I chose this title because the background is a pathway and the wooded areas in the picture are snowy, therefore, I decided to name it Snow Way.
Both images are similar in that they are a picture of 3 different images merged into one, but the tints and shades of the colors in either picture are different. The first (original) image consists of a road, field, and a tree that seems to be covered in snow, whereas the second (recreated) image, is of a wooded area covered in snow and a pine tree. I was successful in recreating the image using the cut and paste technique, but I would like the colors to be more similar (the pine tree is much brighter than the rest of the photo).
In order to recreate the first image, I had to cut a triangle out of one picture in Photoshop by using the polygonal lasso tool. Then I free transformed it and cut and paste it onto a new template which I had already given a solid light green background. I had the green background because I needed a light green line dividing the two pictures of the wooded area. (The original image also has a line between the two background images.) I did the same cut and paste technique with the other picture of the wooded area to complete the background. I played with the levels, brightness and saturation of the background to get the dull, almost sepia look.
